Should your animal fall ill during the night or at the weekend, telephone the practice. This number is answered by a member of the team 24 hours a day. We can provide advice or arrange for one of our vets to see your animal. Bear in mind the person answering your call in the middle of the night may be at home, asleep. Please use the out-of-hours line in true emergencies only.

A price list is available detailing our routine professional fees and commonly used medicines. Please ask us for an estimate for the cost of a procedure if you would like one. In the event of further treatment being required or of complications occurring which give rise to additional costs, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Unless you have made a prior arrangement with a partner, bills must be settled at the time of treatment.
Where we have arranged to set up an account we will invoice you for all supplies and services at the end of each month. Payment is due within 28 days. We reserve the right to charge additional fees to cover the cost of collecting an overdue account.
Case notes, laboratory reports and diagnostic images (e.g. radiographs) remain the property of Hay Veterinary Group. Given notice, any of these records can be viewed at the practice if you require. We are happy to provide copies of clinical records to another veterinary practice, but we will always seek your permission to do so.
We are only able to provide prescription medicines for an animal or group of animals if they are ‘under our care’. This is a legal requirement and usually means that we must have seen the animal(s) concerned in recent months. It may therefore be necessary to arrange a visit/consultation before we are able to supply you with the medicine you request. We will provide a prescription for medicines if you would rather obtain them elsewhere, however, the same legal obligations apply. We reserve the right to charge for prescriptions. Please also note that pharmacists are unable to supply you with individual doses of a drug if it involves breaking a pack.
We would be grateful if you could give us 48 hours notice for repeat prescriptions/orders where possible.
We hope that you never have cause to complain about the service we provide. Please discuss any problems you have at the earliest opportunity with one of the partners. If you prefer, put your complaint in writing and send it to:
